Keeping Trails Open For Everyone Since 1966

There is only one Front Range in Colorado. We work closely with the U. S. Forest Service to clear and maintain trails, educate multi trail users on the safe use of the back country and wilderness for the enjoyment of all.

In 2024 we contributed over $107,000.00 in trail clearing and community education, maintaining back country access and conservation in the Colorado Front Range.

167 Wilderness Trail Miles and 31 Miles of Front Country Miles in 2024.

Wilderness is delicate. No power tools can be used to clear the yearly tree fall from the previous winter. Our members go through rigorous sawyer and environmental training to safely clear the trails and conserve the landscape.

We train the next generation in conservation, multi use trail safety and horsemanship.

We are an organization of horsewomen, horsemen and horse families that are committed to educating the next generation in environmental stewardship, assuring that public lands are accessible to all - safely and securely.

“Front Range Back Country Horsemen is essential in supporting the U. S Forest Service with trail maintenance in the Front Range.”
